The Taba crossing is expected to open in the coming days, according to a decision made in a discussion held today (Monday) with the participation of the government ministries involved, including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Tourism.

The crossing will probably open, but with a great many restrictions that will make it difficult for a vacation in Sinai.

The decision on the opening day has not yet been made, but it is estimated that it will happen this coming Monday, during the week of the festival.

Despite the desire for mass influx by many Israeli tourists, departure to Sinai will be in very low numbers.

In the first phase, there will be about 300 Israelis who can pass through the Taba crossing to Sinai in a day.

This means that if the crossing opens as early as next Monday, no more than 1,500 Israelis will be able to leave by the second holiday of Passover.

This is good news that will allow very few Israelis to celebrate the upcoming Passover in Sinai.

The passage is expected to open after about a year, during which it was almost completely closed.

Among the decision-makers, attempts are being made to allow only the vaccinated and recovering to move to Sinai.

A corona test will be required in Egypt, 72 hours before returning to Israel, and all returnees will also have to undergo another test after returning to Israel.

The passage will be open only at certain hours and at partial occupancy, and according to the rules of the purple character.

This means that despite everything they thought, this coming Passover there will be no mass influx of Israelis to Sinai.
