Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi discussed a range of international issues and the progress of the two countries' relations with the United States of America.
Russia Today quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement that "the two ministers reviewed, during the meeting that took place in the Chinese city of Guilin, the progress of Russia and China’s relations with the United States, as well as a set of pressing issues for the global agenda."
The Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that the two sides also discussed the issue of cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations, the situation in Afghanistan and Myanmar, in addition to the nuclear agreement signed with Iran, pointing out that the meeting confirmed the unity of positions regarding the topics discussed.
Lavrov began today a working visit to China, where he is scheduled to discuss a wide range of issues including foreign policy coordination between the two countries.
