The outside world may have misunderstandings about people with autism, thinking that they cannot live a normal life, and thus obliterate all their possibilities.

In fact, if people with autism can receive training in a timely manner, they can also develop their unique potential.

Parents of children with autism believe that they don’t need to be afraid when their children are assessed as autistic. Instead, they should make good use of online resources to understand autism and deal with and accept their children’s conditions.

However, parents also lament that the current government’s resources to support autistic children and parents are insufficient. For example, training under the epidemic has been changed to online teaching, but it seems like nothing for children with autism who cannot concentrate; and most of the government’s support programs are only for children with autism. Autistic children under the age of 6 provide services, and after the age of 6, they "fend for themselves." Parents urge the government to integrate relevant information in the future and provide appropriate care for people with autism at different stages.

The United Nations has designated April 2 as the "World Autism Awareness Day". In response to this, the Aipai Autism Fund will continue to organize the "Autism Autism Campaign" this year, aiming to increase the public's understanding of autism. , So as to be willing to accept them and help them integrate into society.

This year, the foundation invites autistic children and autistic youth Zhiheng to explore their own interests and abilities through painting. The care ambassador, Zeno, also encourages everyone to explore their own possibilities, and learn to recognize and accept differences. The same person.

Sun Jia, who is 4 years old, was assessed as autistic when he was 2 and a half years old.

Father Michael's previous impression of Sunja was that he was a quiet child.

But in fact, as early as when Shanjia was younger, Michael had suspected that he had autism tendency. "He didn’t respond to his 7-year-old family sister and mother, and even my name is Qu." Also because he often didn’t respond to his family members. Zero communication, so the relationship with family members is not very good.

"He will arrange the toy cars in order, and if they are messed up, they will return them."

Later, Michael discovered that Shanjia would only be more involved when he was doing something he was interested in.

"He will arrange the toy cars in order, and if they are in a mess, they will return them."

He was surprised, so he searched for information on the Internet, and unexpectedly found that his son’s condition was similar to autism symptoms. "At that time, my wife was scared and felt that he was prone to autism. It will be quiet, and there will be nothing to be frightened."

Until Shanjia's pre-school education class, the teacher found that Shanjia not only was restless during class, did not listen to instructions, but also behaved out of gregariousness, so he suggested that Michael take him for an autism assessment.

At that time Michael was mentally prepared, knowing that his son had a high chance of being rated as autistic, and he was ready to take care of his son in the future.

However, Shanjia's mother's reaction was completely different from Michael's. After learning the result, she couldn't accept it for a while and couldn't help crying.

Give up work to take care of his son full-time

After confirming that Shanjia had autism, Michael, a food wholesaler, sold the store decisively and sold it to others so that he could take care of his son full-time.

He said that his previous occupation was relatively "difficult," and it was difficult to take care of them. He also knew that autistic children were a golden time for training before the age of 6, so he decided to devote all his time to take care of them.

Families receiving intensive training have to pay for expensive courses

With the assistance of 5 lessons per week and 4 hours of training per lesson, Chen Jia has changed from ignoring her family to her family within two months and has become able to respond, which greatly improves the relationship with her family.

But in fact, the cost of training courses is very expensive, with a monthly payment of 9,000 yuan. Michael laments that this amount is a huge expenditure in his family.

After the age of 6, government support greatly reduces parents' worries

Michael said frankly that when he first looked for support for children with autism, he was bumped into every corner.

He pointed out that the information on autism on the Internet is scattered and the government provides limited support. "Although the government provides early training for children under the age of 6, there are few classes and it is difficult to arrange."

He believes that in terms of prime time before the age of 6, the number of training is obviously insufficient.

He said that in addition to regularly seeking a therapist to train all aspects of abilities, children with autism also need to go to the psychiatric department for follow-up consultations. However, the number of places currently provided by the government is very small and it is not easy to get them.

After Sun Jia was assessed as autistic at the age of 2 and a half, he waited one and a half years before he was successfully assigned to the government outpatient service.

In addition, most of the support provided by the government related to autism will end after the age of 6, which makes Michael worry about where to go in the future.

He hopes that the government can not only integrate relevant information, but also provide appropriate assistance to patients with autism at different stages.

"Actually, I am afraid that it stems from ignorance. If you understand what autism is, you will naturally know that you should do it."

Under the epidemic, the training is changed to online for autistic children, it is difficult to concentrate on class

New coronary pneumonia has been raging for a long time, and it has also had a major impact on children with autism.

Michael pointed out that the inherent training classes are all changed to online, but children with autism cannot be concentrated on a small screen at all. The training effect is far worse than the previous face-to-face courses, and the training is not well absorbed.

Michael felt very anxious about this, "It is prime time before the age of 6, and I can't give a face-to-face instruction from the family. A lot of time is wasted!"

In order to keep the training of the kind that can continue, Michael can only find some speech training online and bite the bullet and teach him personally. However, the information on the Internet is messy, so Michael is worried that he will teach wrong.

"There is no way. Training is better than training. It will be useful if you continue to do it."

Michael believes that the most important thing for people with autism is to have patience and be psychologically prepared. They need to repeat the reminder many times before they can slowly master the knowledge.

Michael urges some parents who know that their children have autism not to be too worried and afraid. "Actually, they are afraid that they stem from ignorance. If they understand what autism is, they naturally know that they should do it."

He believes that instead of wasting time and worrying, it is better to accept the situation positively and seize the time to find a way out.
