"The situation is extremely serious in some sectors," summarizes Peter Lingg, chairman of the regional committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
Gastronomy and hotel business, businesses in the fields of tourism and events as well as local retail are hit hard.

Brace against the risk of bankruptcy
The ongoing issue of Covid-19 and the associated restrictions occupy and challenge the IHK, which is involved in the award of state financial aid.
It's about how the domestic economy can get through this crisis in the best possible way and hopefully get started again soon, says Lingg.
"The Chamber of Commerce and Industry brings ideas and suggestions to the state government and we as the regional committee to those responsible in the district." You have to do all you can to counter the threat of insolvency in some industries.
It is important that the IHK is still well positioned, initiating projects and making demands.
Between April 9th and May 7th, important elections are due: In the district, more than 7,500 members are called to determine the composition of two business parliaments of the association: For the district this is the regional committee - and for the whole of Upper Bavaria the general assembly.
An electoral term lasts five years, i.e. in the current case until 2026.

23 candidates apply for the 15 seats in the said regional committee, one of them also for a mandate for the general assembly.
