The European Union officially issued a statement on March 22 to sanction China on the human rights issue in Xinjiang.
This is the first time that the EU has imposed sanctions on China since 1989.

The EU statement revealed that the Chinese personnel being sanctioned were Zhu Hailun, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Wang Junzheng, deputy secretary of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region Party Committee, and Party Secretary of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Wang Mingshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Xinjiang Party Committee, and vice chairman of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region People’s Government. Chen Mingguo, director of the Public Security Department of the Autonomous Region, was sanctioned by the Public Security Bureau of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
The European Union also sanctioned personnel and institutions in Russia, North Korea, Villa, South Sudan and other countries on the same day, citing the same violation of human rights.
The European Union said on March 17 that it would impose sanctions on China.
China asks the EU not to go its own way, otherwise it will face countermeasures.
The Global Times reported on March 19 that multiple sources familiar with the situation revealed that the Chinese government is formulating countermeasures against the EU. Some EU institutions that take the lead in accusing China’s Xinjiang policy will bear the brunt. Escape punishment.
Many sources also said that if the EU insists on doing its own way, China will double the refund.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on March 18 that Xinjiang-related issues are essentially anti-violence and anti-separatism issues.
Xinjiang affairs are purely China's internal affairs.
The European side should stop using the Xinjiang issue to smear China and interfere in China's internal affairs on the grounds of human rights.
If the EU makes a wrong decision based on lies concocted by a few anti-China forces with ulterior motives, it can only show that this is a political manipulation.
If the EU insists on taking wrong actions that harm China’s interests, China will definitely respond firmly and accompany it to the end.
