A month ago, the
Office of
the
Attorney for Administrative Investigations
(PIA) opened a preliminary investigation for the irregular granting of vaccines that caused the dismissal of Ginés González García from the Ministry of Health.
The crimes that they analyze, and that could be included in a criminal complaint, range from
abuse of authority, embezzlement of public funds to incompatible negotiations
, among others.
The head of the PIA,
Sergio Rodríguez
, requested that federal justice order a crossover of calls that include the lines of the former minister and his successor, Carla Vizzotti, to determine the level of responsibility in the maneuvers under investigation.
When the file being processed at the PIA began, its authorities indicated that the facts raised - in addition to the serious irregularities that would have been verified when a "VIP vaccination" was arranged, which was accessed through "contact" with the now former minister - "they would be revealing
serious abuses of power
in the performance of public functions."
Based on this first proposal, reports were requested from the Ministry of Health regarding the people involved in the maneuvers that made possible the irregular circuit of the application of Sputnik V vaccines, as well as a series of reports on
income and expenses of the building where Ginés had his office
.
On the other hand, it was requested that the complete list of all those people who were inoculated be delivered.
The information sent to the PIA was not clear,
and for that reason - judicial sources explained to
Clarín
- greater precision was required in the reports presented and a series of steps to be followed so that said documentation is "legible for the purposes of the investigation."
With other test measures underway, last week the PIA requested that in the case it is processing in Comodoro Py in charge of the prosecutor Eduardo Taiano, a crossing of telephone lines be carried out, that is, an analysis of the communications of some people under suspicion .
This request includes telephone lines from former minister Ginés González García as
well as Carla Vizzotti
and other members of the Health Cabinet, according to judicial sources confirmed to
Clarín
.
Everything aims to determine
who had knowledge of the circuit
that made it possible for a group of leaders, trade unionists and close associates to the Casa Rosada to be inoculated outside of the established shifts and deadlines.
For this reason, an expert opinion on telephone calls was requested, which also includes telephones assigned to personnel of the Posadas Hospital.
The hypothesis of the case maintains that there would have been
a "reserve of vaccines (3,000) to be applied to officials, relatives of officials, celebrities
or prominent personalities from the political, union or public life of the country, thus departing from the Technical Guidelines for the Campaign. National Vaccination Against COVID-19 ".
Along these same lines, the Attorney General's Office seeks to determine
who among the three branches of the State were inoculated,
and for this reason, the prosecutor Rodríguez wants clarification regarding
which ones the government understood to be strategic workers.
The Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches must respond to the PIA's official letter, which seeks to establish whether they received any notification from the Government detailing who is included among the essential personnel, whether they received orders to receive the vaccine, whether they dropped out. protocols in this regard and, finally, who within each government power were inoculated.
The PIA seeks to clarify who is essential for the Government, if in that categorization the Casa Rosada prioritized one Power over another and, in such case, what was the criterion for doing so, judicial sources explained to Clarín.
The Ministry of Health and the Chief of Cabinet requested an extension to respond to
the letters received and have not yet sent any document in this regard.
