Brazil crossed the threshold of 3,000 deaths from Covid-19 on Tuesday March 23 for the first time in 24 hours, according to figures from the Ministry of Health.

The country of 212 million people recorded 3,251 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 298,676 for 12.1 million cases.
Brazil is the second most bereaved country on the planet by the coronavirus pandemic in absolute numbers behind the United States.
