The terrestrial communication service and the Internet were cut off from 5,200 subscribers in the town of Qanawat and an activated village in the countryside of the As-Suwayda governorate, due to violations of the optical connection cable serving them.
In a statement to SANA's correspondent today, the deputy director of the Syrian Telecom Company branch in As-Suwayda, Eng. Waheeb Al-Hussein, explained that unknown assailants sabotaged and cut off the cable route connecting to the channel divider with more than one telephone inspection room at a distance of 1500 meters, which led to the complete interruption of communications to the subscribers of the town of Qanawat and an activated village served by the exchange. .
Al-Hussein also pointed out that the company's workshops have begun to repair the damages caused by the infringement in preparation for restoring telephone service to subscribers within the next 24 hours.
