Because accommodation providers have been in lockdown for months, and not for the first time.

The occasion was a video switch between the apprentices and their trainers with the CSU member of the state parliament Ulrike Scharf, who had initiated them for the third Bavaria-wide training and further training week.

For the trainees at the Hotel Victory, the initial situation was pretty similar, at least for the five participating apprentices: During a school internship, they were enthusiastic about the familiar atmosphere in the Victory team and decided to stay.
As hotel manager Jens Bernitzky explained, the hotel is currently training 18 young people, 17 trainees and one dual student.
With a company closed due to the corona pandemic, this is not an easy task.
“Our trainees are at home,” said trainer Nicola Ewald.
The theory is currently only taking place in the vocational school, the practice is missing completely.
"We have regular Zoom meetings to exchange ideas, but in practice there is nothing we can do," regrets Ewald.
A digital exchange is not comparable to personal contact anyway.
She had a specific proposal for a solution: “We don't have any guests at the moment anyway.
Perhaps the government can provide us with rapid tests so that we can bring in the trainees.
In this way we could convey practical learning content with role play. "
This concept was already used in the first Corona lockdown, as Bernitzky explained: “We did that before the practical exams so that the trainees could practice again.
The trainers then play the role of guest and sit down in the restaurant or have a sales pitch. ”This is not that popular with the trainees, but it helps.
But the interest in hotel or gastronomy professions is decreasing, Bernitzky has noticed.
