During the epidemic for a long time to study or work at home, the opportunities for young people to make friends face-to-face are greatly reduced. Xu Xiaoman suggests that when young people are experiencing stress or emotional distress, they should seek help and try to actively establish, expand and maintain their social circles; otherwise, when they lack meaningful connections for a long time, they will not only withdraw themselves further, but also have a greater impact on mental health. risk.

The Youth Association's "uTouch Online Youth Outreach Service" provided counselling services to 3,104 young people from January to December 2020. Zhu Xiangxiong, the captain of the Youth Association’s "uTouch Online Youth Outreach Service", said that from the observation of frontline online social workers, many young people use social media and platforms to talk to strangers to relieve loneliness, but when they find that they have different ideas and it is difficult to communicate, On the contrary, it reinforces the idea that "no one understands oneself", which in turn increases loneliness and even suffocates the confidence in building relationships with others, creating a vicious circle.

"UTouch Online Youth Outreach Service" will start in April and will host a series of activities related to youth loneliness and emotions, such as art therapy, drama therapy, mindfulness and artistic intervention techniques.
