Beirut-Sana

Protests and road blockages renewed in a number of Lebanese regions today against the backdrop of deteriorating economic and living conditions and high prices.

The Lebanese National News Agency stated that a number of protesters in Beirut gathered in front of the Banque du Liban in Hamra and deliberately burned tires, trying to block the road to denounce the poor living conditions.

In Iqlim al-Kharroub, the Chouf district, members of the Lebanese army opened a road crossed by protesters with burning tires after their sit-in in the main square.

Since October 17, 2019, many Lebanese regions have witnessed demonstrations and sit-ins to protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions and to demand the fight against corruption in the country.
