Former Moldovan policeman ... and pimp.

Edouard, 34, with biceps and broad shoulders, ran a network of prostitution in apartments which was rampant in Ajaccio (Corsica), Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) and Paris.

Today, this blond young man would like to regain his freedom.

He plans to give judo lessons to children in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine), find work and bring his wife and son to France.

But the Paris investigative chamber estimated at the beginning of March that it is more prudent for this man, considered dangerous, to await his trial behind bars in the prison of Health.

“Everything was going well for me and then I made a mistake, he breathes.

I want to integrate into France and I remind you that I have never used violence on anyone, ”Edouard tried to defend himself.

It was in August 2016 that Corsican police officers spotted the activities of this Moldovan prostitution network.

Appointments are made on the Internet and passes are linked in apartments.

But the parade of customers worries residents who sound the alarm.

The pimps, suspicious, understand that they are roasted and leave the Isle of Beauty.

They make a brief stopover in Nice before settling in Paris.

A lieutenant advertises on the specialized site Vivastreet and a dozen girls work in Airbnb apartments, rented for the occasion.

Customers contact switchboard operators who answer the phone to set them up.

And the activities of prostitutes are systematically supervised by bodyguards.

Married and father

According to the statements of prostitutes in front of the investigators, the girls received around 1,500 euros per month, specifies a source close to the file.

The bodyguards were paid 1300 euros.

The turnover of the network was around 1000 euros per day.

Half of the income is sent to Edouard in Russia, by cash order.

He has a car garage in Moldova and a bar in Moscow.

The head of the network sometimes comes to France to establish his authority, but these matters are managed on a daily basis by his lieutenant.

The latter is married and the father of an 8-year-old child.

A graduate of the Moldova Police Academy, he was a police officer for two years before moving to Russia.

There he graduated with a five-year law degree and planned to become a lawyer.

This profile brings back memories.

"In France in the 1980s, there were a few police officers who dived for procuring," recalls a retired civil servant.

They were fascinated by girls, the power they could have over them, sex and money.

But it was another time ... "

Embroiled in a similar case in Russia

On August 23, 2016, seven members of this network were arrested, including its leader, who came to Paris to look after his interests.

The accomplices confess.

But the boss starts by getting bogged down in these lies.

In front of the investigators of the judicial police, he maintains that he came to France to help prostitutes to buy apartments.

Then at the end of the instruction, he will end up admitting "that he is indeed the head of this network".

During the searches, officials found numerous cell phones and "transcash" cards used to transfer money to Moldova.

His lawyer, Me Marion Furic, believes that the investigation of this case is over.

She recalls that her client was heard five times by the examining magistrate.

“He studied French in prison and wants to settle here.

This continued detention is equivalent to a double penalty because he is not French, ”adds the lawyer.

This opinion is not shared by the prosecution, which describes a very organized prostitution network.

"He is also a dangerous man because the investigation established that he had hired minors who were to prostitute themselves in Russia", reveals our magistrate.
