The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region will grant "
quite exceptionally
" free regional transport to students vulnerable by the Covid-19 crisis, according to a draft deliberation which must be voted on Monday, March 29.

to grant free travel home-study and exams in TER and regional buses until the end of the current school year, on simple presentation of a card. 'student and supporting documents

Via agreements with the SNCF and the coach operators, the socialist region will bear the loss of revenue estimated at some 480,000 euros.
This free of charge will only apply to home-study trips and exams, to the exclusion of other leisure or family trips.
The largest region in metropolitan France, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, with its many rural areas, experiences significant territorial inequalities accentuated by population migration to the coast.
This measure is part of a set of aid that the region wants to put in place to fight against student insecurity, accentuated by the pandemic.
