New worries for Boris Johnson?

Edinburgh - The Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon wants the Scottish people to vote again on independence from Great Britain.

The independence referendum is scheduled for the new legislative period.

As in the referendum in 2014, the Scottish people will decide whether Scotland wants to be an independent country.

On Monday, Sturgeon's National Party (SNP) presented a bill for the referendum.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson “strictly” rejects a new referendum.

Scottish government bill for new independence referendum

Just six weeks before the parliamentary elections in Scotland, one thing is clear: The Scots should be able to decide on their independence again.

According to the draft, the date of the referendum is in the upcoming legislature so that Scots have a chance to assess how Scotland has recovered from the pandemic.

The responsible cabinet member of the SNP, Mike Russell, said people should consider "which country we want to be after the crisis".

The draft law provides for the people to be asked again the question from the 2014 referendum, "Should Scotland be an independent country?"

Over-16-year-olds and also foreign nationals who are entitled to vote should be allowed to vote.

Great Britain: Prime Minister Boris Johnson "strictly" rejects Scottish independence

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is against the new independence referendum.

He “strictly” rejects the planned independence of the Scots, as it did before the United Kingdom left the EU.

He would still not approve any motion and would bet on an entire United Kingdom.

Russell said on Monday that "London has no democratic justification to prevent the vote if pro-independence parties win a majority in the May 6 election".

His national party SNP stands for an independent Scotland.

She expects a majority in the parliamentary elections on May 6, although her Prime Minister Sturgeon has been criticized for the affair of misleading parliament.

She has to face a motion of no confidence in parliament on Tuesday.

Scotland: Independent expertise backs Sturgeon

The 50 year old Sturgeon is suspected of having misled the Scottish Parliament.

According to the opposition, Sturgeon has interfered in past investigations into former Prime Minister Alex Salmond.

A year ago, Salmond was subject to allegations of rape and sexual harassment.

The opposition demands the resignation of the head of government.

Last Monday, attorney James Hamilton submitted an independent opinion to parliament that backed the head of government.

According to the expertise, she did not lie or break a code of conduct.

Nevertheless, she has to face the motion of no confidence.

The chances of success for Sturgeon are apparently good: The Greens do not support the demands of the conservative opposition to resign.

With the party's votes, the head of government would have a majority.
