Caridad Vela resigned this Tuesday from her position as Secretary of Communications for the Presidency of Ecuador.
Ecuador's Health Minister resigns while government confirms that officials close to Moreno
were vaccinated
In his resignation text, he stressed that his procedure is due to health reasons because after three weeks since his contagion with covid-19, he continues in medical treatment without recovering.
Vela added that the situation could drag on and that would interfere with his duties.
President Lenin Moreno responded to the resignation with public thanks and after wishing the speedy recovery of Caridad Vela, appointed Andrés Michelena to the head of Communications.
