This has been a very difficult year for the ultra-Orthodox public and especially for the ultra-Orthodox representatives in the Knesset.

The corona knocked down many spaces, the closures stuck large families in small houses, yeshiva students roamed the streets and some fell off the road.

If that was not enough, the ultra-Orthodox public was abducted, a public lynching that has never been seen before, violating guidelines along with an impossible reality of life and data on large amounts of infection in ultra-Orthodox population concentrations infected the ultra-Orthodox public with the stigma of spreading the disease.

If that was not enough, the big closures and restrictions were planned mainly for the holiday periods and then on Hanukkah, and the ultra-Orthodox MKs? They absorbed the frustration, served as a target for criticism and remained helpless.

Criticism intensified, and Bezalel Smutrich also entered the rage against the ultra-Orthodox representatives as a key player and an alternative without a few ultra-Orthodox.

The ultra-Orthodox parties entered the election campaign bruised and beaten.

The ultra-Orthodox public was angry and was joined by the erosion of a fourth election campaign in just two years.

The danger of losing seats was real.

Then came Lieberman.

Lieberman presented an anti-Haredi campaign that has never been seen before in the State of Israel.

He showed videos in Russian of ultra-Orthodox taking money coming to IDF soldiers, claiming they were blackmailers, parasites, making a "circus for Netanyahu", promised to deprive them of budgets, broke another record when he said they should put Netanyahu and the ultra-Orthodox in a wheelbarrow and lead them to a landfill.

And yesterday, in the last moments of the election campaign, Lieberman did not calm down and announced that the ultra-Orthodox were "flocking to the polls," and all this in the Jewish state.

It is sad that instead of crashing below the blocking percentage because of statements that in Europe would have received condemnations from the floor, Lieberman maintained his power.

Lieberman split, incited and split between the ultra-Orthodox and the secular, inspired by the atmosphere created by the ultra-Orthodox were physically attacked in recent days in severe violent incidents, but Lieberman did another thing - he saved the ultra-Orthodox campaign.

Deri said that the biggest mistake of his life was the friendships with Lieberman, Gafni, Litzman and the rest said at every opportunity that he was anti-Semitic and the ultra-Orthodox public had united around an enemy who wanted to harm him.

The violence of the ultra-Orthodox MKs yesterday was much more tangible - if you do not go to the polls, Lieberman will be strengthened. Add to that the conversion court and a few more statements by Yair Lapid against the ultra-Orthodox, and you will accept the ultra-Orthodox's success in maintaining their power.
