Children's artworks in the field of drawing, models and photography shone in the art exhibition hosted by Al Zahrawi Palace in the Hamidiya neighborhood in Homs, within the first central forum for sculpture, photography and handicrafts.

The forum organized by the leadership of the Baath Vanguards Organization entitled “Civilization Destroys .. Creation of the Past and the Present” was opened yesterday with children from different governorates who dedicated their works to the spirit of the martyr Khaled Al-Asaad.

The forum also included two exhibitions of traditional tools, jewelry, folk costumes, the destructive environment and antiquities, and workshops for children from the Homs branch of the pioneers in the field of painting “rugs, origami carpets, mosaics and sculpture,” and a documentary film about the ancient city of Palmyra.

Hossam Al-Durra, a member of the leadership of the Homs branch of Al-Talae ', head of the Culture, Fine Arts and Entrepreneurship Office, said in a statement to SANA that the forum includes many works of children and pioneers across the country who have sent their handicrafts to “paint a mosaic sculpture” and part of it is related to the city of Palmyra to revive its heritage and highlight it. From this archaeological place in the heart of the ancient city of Homs, which bears the fragrant heritage.

Art activist Georgette Turki, who participated in the exhibition, indicated that the history of Palmyra and its archaeological sites were simulated through models made of materials inspired by them, such as palm leaves and sand, to produce a distinctive product with the participation of plastic artists from Homs.

The child, Yazan Khadour, spoke about his participation in a painting that embodies the history of Palmyra and its civilization. It consists of old carriages drawn by horses, children carrying a Syrian flag, and women carrying water jars.

For their part, the children participating in the rugs and carpets workshop “Hamza Husaynu, Najm al-Din al-Hamwi and Manal Ezz al-Din” talked about the art and aesthetics of this traditional craft.

It is noteworthy that the forum will continue until the end of this week, and visits will be organized from various schools in the city.
