The assault was caught on a CCTV camera and the footage was posted on social media by the Forza Nova political party. The defendants face up to seven years in prison.

Six minors were indicted on Wednesday March 24 in Bastia for "

aggravated violence

" on a teenager whom they are accused of having beaten up during an assault filmed by a CCTV camera and broadcast on social networks, have indicated corroborating sources.

"

They were presented Wednesday to the children's judge of the Bastia court, indicted and placed under judicial control

", told AFP Arnaud Viornery, prosecutor of the Republic of Bastia, confirming information from France 3 Corsica.

The assault took place last Thursday in the citypark of a square in the Montesoro district, in the south of Bastia, by these six minors, aged 14 to 17, only one of whom already had elements of his criminal record, said the prosecutor.

According to the prosecutor, the 17-year-old victim was released from the hospital with 16 stitches in the head and a total temporary disability (ITT) of more than eight days, in this case 12 days.

The penalty incurred is thus 7 years in prison.

The attack was filmed by a CCTV camera and the images were broadcast Wednesday afternoon on social networks by the political party Forza Nova, which presents itself as a "

right-wing Corsican nationalist movement

".

In this 45-second video, six youngsters are seen kicking, punching and sticking a seventh.

"

A stone was also used,

" said the prosecutor who noted "

that it was relatively rare to have this kind of beating

" in Corsica.

"

I opened a parallel investigation into the conditions for broadcasting this video which was not supposed to be broadcast,

" the prosecutor also told AFP.
