Macabre discovery.
This Wednesday evening, after 8 p.m., the frogmen of the River Brigade and the divers from the BSPP (Paris Fire Brigade) recovered the body of a man in the Seine.

A police investigation was opened.
It was passers-by who sounded the alert around 6 p.m., having seen a man fall into the water at the Pont d'Arcole (4th arrondissement), next to Notre-Dame.
The divers started looking for the victim and combed the river for 1 km, between the Pont d'Arcole and the Pont-Neuf.
Surface divers as well as underwater divers were mobilized, with a dog team from the BSPP.
"A dog is able to spot a victim on the water," said the spokesperson for the BSPP.
The body was found at 8:30 p.m.
The man was declared deceased.
