Drama this Wednesday morning in the city center of Poissy (Yvelines).
A 12 year old child was fatally struck by a car.
He was hit while riding a scooter.
He had just left the courses of the Notre-Dame Institute, located close to the central prison, when a taxi driver arriving at his perpendicular hit him.
He was thrown into the air before his head landed on the pedestal of a sidewalk.
He died instantly despite the rapid arrival of many firefighters and a team from Smur who tried to resuscitate him.
According to initial findings, the motorist was not driving at high speed.
His vehicle showed, moreover, only a few traces.
“The driver does not seem to be involved.
And besides, it is impossible to drive fast in this sector.
This child was really unlucky.
It was his fall that was fatal to him, ”says a source close to the affair, who arrived very quickly at the scene of the tragedy.
The traumatic scene was seen by dozens of children leaving the institute and a nearby college and many passers-by from this downtown area.
A psychological support unit has been set up in both establishments.
The parents of the young victim, from Poissy, were also taken care of.
The taxi driver is a man in his forties, from Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
