Berlin-SANA
The German authorities announced today the arrest of a terrorist who joined the terrorist organization (ISIS) in Syria, the moment she arrived at Berlin Airport.
The Associated Press quoted the German public prosecutor as saying in a statement that Stephanie A, who holds German citizenship, was arrested at Berlin airport on charges of being associated with the terrorist organization (ISIS) in Syria, explaining that she “traveled to Syria in 2016 to join her husband who is in the ranks of the terrorist organization and joined ( ISIS) after its arrival. ”
The statement added, “The defendant decided that her son, whom she took with her to Syria, and who was under 15 years old, would receive firearms training at a training camp run by the extremist organization and participated in the fight with (ISIS) before he was killed in an air raid in March 2018. Her husband was arrested at a later time. ”
Prosecutors charged her with membership in a foreign terrorist organization and violating her duties of care and participation in a war crime.
German intelligence statistics indicate that hundreds have left their country to join terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq, at a time when Germany, like other Western countries, is trying to ward off the threat of terrorism returning to it from those returning to their original homeland.
