The United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva today adopted by a majority of its members two resolutions in favor of the State of Palestine.

The Palestinian Foreign Minister, Riyad Al-Malki, according to what Wafa reported, stated that 36 countries voted in favor of a resolution presented by Palestine at the meeting of the Human Rights Council, at its 46th session currently held in Geneva, condemning the settlements and Israeli annexation plans in the Palestinian territories, including occupied Jerusalem, while 8 countries abstained and 3 objected against the decision. .

Al-Maliki pointed out that 42 countries voted on another resolution that affirms the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establish their independent state, while two states abstained and three objected to it.

Al-Maliki stressed that the development of Palestinian decisions came in a way that is consistent and serves the Palestinian strategy of holding the occupation accountable and holding its criminals accountable for their daily crimes against the Palestinian people, their properties and their sanctities.

Al-Maliki valued the positions of the countries that adopted and voted in favor of the two resolutions and their consistency with the basic principles of international law in protecting human rights and the duty and responsibilities of states to ensure accountability for perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinian people.

At the same time, the Palestinian Foreign Minister criticized the selectivity of some countries and their double standards in dealing with human rights issues, especially when it comes to the necessity of exposing and holding officials of the occupation entity accountable for their crimes against the Palestinians, considering that these negative attitudes encourage global chaos and crimes and will remain a black point in their record.

The United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva yesterday adopted by the majority of its members a resolution submitted by the State of Palestine on the human rights situation, ensuring accountability and achieving justice, especially for the crimes of the Israeli occupation in occupied Palestine.
