Beirut-Sana
The Lebanese Minister of Public Health in the caretaker government, Dr. Hamad Hassan, expressed his thanks to the brotherly Syrian leadership, people and institutions for providing Lebanese hospitals with large quantities of oxygen.
In a statement upon his arrival at the Masnaa border point from Damascus, Hassan said that the mission was accomplished thanks to the endeavors, the good will, and the honorable national decision of the Syrian leadership to meet our oxygen needs to save the Lebanese citizens and to rid the private and public health sector of an unfortunate disaster.
Hassan explained that the oxygen shortage crisis in Lebanon began yesterday when he was informed that the oxygen stock was depleting and that the ship that was supposed to arrive tomorrow would not be able to arrive due to the prevailing weather conditions, and that its arrival was postponed until next Saturday.
Minister Hassan continued .. From here I made contacts with the authorities and activists, with the Syrian leadership, and with Dr. Hassan Al-Ghobash, the Minister of Health, until early hours yesterday, and the answer was positive at night, and oxygen was secured in the morning under the direction of the President, Dr. Bashar Al-Assad. Of oxygen, 25 tons arrive every day for a period of three days to secure the Lebanese hospitals' needs, until Saturday, when the ship arrives.
