Following the elections to the 24th Knesset, the consultations prior to the imposition of the task of assembling the government on an elected candidate will be held at the President's House.
The President's House stated that this time, too, the consultations will be broadcast live and in full transparency to the public.
According to the schedules, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Judge Uzi Vogelman, will present the results to President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday. The president will have seven days to hold consultations, make a decision and impose the government on one of the Knesset members. : The government, the MK on whom the president will entrust the work of assembling the government will have 28 days to form it.
President Rivlin may extend the period by another 14 days.
If the period given to the Knesset member has elapsed and he has not been able to form a government, the president has two options, which he must exercise within three days: impose the government train on another Knesset member, who has informed the president that he is willing to take over the job. Who does not see the possibility of forming a government.
If no MK is found who has succeeded in forming a government, or the government has been presented and the Knesset has not expressed its faith in it, the Knesset will dissolve and elections will be held.
