Hans Schwaiger worked in the administration of the Hilgertshausen-Tandern community for over 35 years.

Now he's retired, people don't like to let him go.

Hilgertshausen - Following the latest municipal council meeting in the Häuserer-Saal, the long-time manager of the Hilgertshausen town hall, Hans Schweiger, retired.

The 62-year-old, who lives with his wife in the neighboring district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen and is also spending his retirement there, has shaped the Hilgertshausen-Tandern community for over 35 years.

Schweiger was the right hand of the mayor Hermann Zanker, Hans Kornprobst and most recently Markus Hertlein.

His last boss, Mayor Hertlein, also gave the laudatory speech at the farewell speech for Schweiger, which unfortunately could only take place in the circle of the municipal council due to the corona lockdown.

The community chief emphasized that the name Schweiger is automatically associated with the community administration for many community citizens.

Schweiger was a stroke of luck for Hilgertshausen-Tandern.

Hertlein tried to characterize Schweiger with four aspects: The top priority is Schweiger's modesty.

But also meticulousness distinguishes him.

"His incredible accuracy at work and the talent to never lose track of the multitude of topics is admirable," praised Hertlein, who also highlighted Schweiger's expertise.

"He didn't need a lexicon, a collection of laws and also no Wikipedia," said the head of the community.

It is no exaggeration to say that the knowledge pool for municipal affairs bears the name of Hans Schweiger.

Serene, patient, friendly

What Hertlein particularly valued, of course, was Schweiger's composure, patience and friendliness.

“To get you off your feet, hardly anyone can do that.

You are always friendly and polite, even in stressful situations ”, is another reference to the departing manager, who, despite the enormous workload, always had an open ear for both the concerns of the citizens and the employees in the municipal administration.

“As a manager and as a person, you were a real institution in our community,” summarized Hertlein, who heard that Schweiger had also recently developed a talent for the piano.

While the mayor handed over a bouquet of flowers for Schweiger's wife, who had to do without some private appointments in all the years of her husband's activity, Vice-Mayor Adi Doldi also addressed words of thanks to his long-term companion.

On behalf of the mayor and the entire municipal council, Doldi presented a voucher for a sports shop.

The official farewell present from the congregation and colleagues will be given on the last working day, Wednesday, March 31st.

Of course, Schweiger did not want to leave the community stage without a word.

He emphasized that family structures can be found in such small communities as Hilgertshausen-Tandern.

The fact that he was a “girl for everything” for a long time was interesting, but also challenging.

He was allowed to do some exciting tasks.

Schweigerr calculated that he had participated in around 500 municipal council meetings and citizens' assemblies.

The community of Hilgertshausen-Tandern has grown dear to him.

As far as humanity is concerned, he has never had reason to complain.

Schweiger wished his successor in the office of managing director, Uwe Kreißelmeier, a good hand "and a good seat at the many, often long meetings".

Standing ovations were the impressive end to this farewell.
