Criminal organizations specializing in migrant smuggling have resisted the pandemic.
According to a report from the Central Office for the Fight against Irregular Immigration and the Employment of Untitled Foreigners (Ocriest), brought to the attention of

, no less than 267 networks were dismantled last year, including 214 by the only staff of the Border Police (PAF).

If this figure reflects a relative sleep of certain traffickers linked to traffic restrictions compared to 2019, where some 320 networks had been eradicated, the police and gendarmerie services carried out last year a very intense judicial activity which resulted in the custody of 980 organizers, smugglers, hosts and counterfeiters
