The topics of the Damascus Pharmaceutical Scientific Days forum held by the Damascus branch of the Pharmacists Syndicate focused on emerging viral infections, contemporary problems in prescribing and dispensing drugs, cellular and immunological treatments for cancer, and cosmetics between facts and exaggerations.
The forum, which began its work today at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus and continues until next Saturday, includes scientific research, a dialogue seminar and workshops, in addition to an exhibition in which the major national pharmaceutical companies participate, which have continued to supply Syria with its medicinal needs and have contributed to achieving drug security despite the war conditions.
The head of the Damascus branch of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Alia Al-Asad, indicated in a statement to SANA that the forum aims to raise the scientific level of pharmacists by presenting the current and urgent health issues and topics and continuing to support higher research in Syrian universities and research centers.
Dr. Lama Youssef, a clinical pharmacology and immunology specialist at Damascus University, said that her lecture sheds light on the rumors and false news that accompanied the spread of the Corona virus, which was contributed to the spread of social media and the role of doctors and pharmacists in refuting it, noting that such activities constitute a help to universities and research centers.
On the developments of the emergent mutations on the Corona virus, Dr. Majd Al-Jamali pointed out that his lecture will shed light on the most important Covid 19 mutations and its approach with the situation in Syria and how the spread of mutations will be, indicating that the forum is witnessing lectures talking about measuring antibodies to the Corona virus and the response of patients to the virus in addition to rumors That accompanied the spread of Covid 19 and how it is being exploited by companies.
