The renovation and expansion of the secondary school in Wolfratshausen will cost 14.5 million euros.

Almost 67,000 euros of this will go into a new ventilation system.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - In the gym of the Wolfratshauser Realschule there is a two-part ventilation center that will in future provide classrooms and sports hall with clean fresh air.

The district plans to spend 669,000 euros on the renewal of the old system.

That was decided by the school and building committee of the district council in the most recent meeting.

Ventilation system will not significantly increase overall costs

A total of 14.5 million euros has been budgeted for the secondary school (“partial complete renovation including an addition to the technical hall building and new construction of an all-day school”).

According to René Beysel, Head of the Office, these total costs should not increase significantly as a result of the ventilation system.

Because for other trades the companies made cheaper offers than expected.

The award was made in the non-public part of the meeting.

Measures are right on schedule

First, however, Beysel reported to the committee on the construction work at the secondary school, which had been occupying the district for a long time.

Although there was a delay in the past week, the new wooden building for the open all-day school is right on schedule.

This preceded the concreting of the floor slab, the wooden components had already been erected in the past few days, as Beysel demonstrated with photos.

In the course of the work on the school, efforts were made to replace the two 30-year-old ventilation centers in the basement of the existing gym without having to construct a new building.

The new two-part ventilation is designed in such a way that in future it will be able to supply the technical hall building, including the planned increase in storeys, and the gymnasium with fresh air.

Whether up to 60 athletes are in the hall, the students take their written exams at tables or events with up to 350 people take place - for just under 690,000 euros you can get a system that has the appropriate capacity to comply with the current regulations , says Beysel.

This is not just about air exchange, in winter the fresh air drawn into the rooms must also be preheated.

County hopes for funding

The good news: There are various state subsidy programs for the plant.

“In any case, 50 percent of the costs are to be expected,” explained the head of the office.

District Councilor Alois Bauer (Free Voters) wanted to know whether the ventilation would then also comply with the new guidelines.

That doesn't exist (yet), says Beysel.

It is certain that in view of the pandemic there will be stricter regulations and requirements for air pollution control in the future.

What exactly is coming is currently not known.

"We are traveling according to the current guidelines."

In June and July there will again be large tenders for the construction work, then “Kassensturz will be made” to see whether the district treasurer will have to register increased costs for the secondary school.

However, it is hoped to make ends meet with the estimated 14.5 million euros in the budget years 2022 to 2024.

Appropriate grant applications should be submitted.

The city council decided on a package that will cost more than 40 million euros.
