The political scientist targeted by an investigation for sexual assault and rape on his stepson, hesitated to give a big interview to a newspaper or writing a book to explain himself. According to Le Point, he would have chosen this second option.

He will not have the patience - nor the decency - to wait for justice to do its job.

According to several sources relayed by

Le Point

, the political scientist Olivier Duhamel will soon publish a book about the accusations of incest on his stepson of which he is the object.

"

The manuscript is well advanced, contacts have even been made with a few publishers,

" says the weekly.

Olivier hesitated a lot between an interview with the press and a book.

He finally opted for writing;

his goal is not to settle accounts but to deliver his truth,

”confides one of his relatives at

Point

.

On January 5, the Paris prosecutor's office opened a preliminary investigation

"Counts of rape and sexual assault by a person with authority over a 15-year-old minor and rape and sexual assault by a person with authority"

.

This investigation was opened even before the release of

La Familia grande

(éd. Du Seuil), a testimonial book in which Camille Kouchner, Olivier Duhamel's daughter-in-law, accuses him of having sexually assaulted his twin brother when he had 14 years old.

Faced with the excitement generated by the horror of these revelations, the publishing house has extended its circulation to 225,000 copies in four days.

Olivier Duhamel is not the first man accused of sexual violence to respond by writing a book.

Gabriel Matzneff did it before him, a few weeks ago.

In response to the

Consent

of Vanessa Springora, the eighty-four-year-old writer, targeted by an investigation for rape of minors and who will be tried for apologizing for pedophilia, has self-published his novel.

He describes the story of a man ostracized from society and thanks his unwavering support.

In the wake of the accusations made by Camille Kouchner, Olivier Duhamel resigned from his mandates.

He is no longer the president of the Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques, which controls the budget and strategy of Sciences Po. Nor that of the

Le Siècle

club

.

Europe 1 and LCI have also announced that he will quit his functions of host and columnist on their antenna.

His entourage was splashed by this affair.

Like the former Minister of Justice Élisabeth Guigou, who gave up chairing the independent commission on incest.

However, she claims to have

"ignored all these years the extremely serious facts denounced by Camille Kouchner in his book

".

Frédéric Mion, the director of Sciences Po, has also resigned.

He had told the students of his "

amazement

" to learn these "

very serious facts

" through "

press articles

".

A few days later, the newspaper

Le Monde

revealed, however, that the director of the establishment had been informed in 2018.
