The number of intensive care beds has not increased.
Critical care should not be confused with resuscitation.
In normal times, continuous monitoring beds accommodate patients who are coming out of intensive care and who are doing better or patients at risk who require increased continuous monitoring.
Currently, these continuing care units are transformed into intensive care units.
When the Ministry of Health announces that it can increase the number of critical care beds - in times of crisis - from 5,000 to 12,000 beds, it is actually an increase in ephemeral critical care beds, which can be "Arm" from beds that exist in structures
