More than half of Israeli citizens have been vaccinated against the corona virus, the Ministry of Health announced today (Thursday).

According to the ministry, about 5.2 million were vaccinated in the first dose, while about 4.6 million received the second dose.

At the same time, the coefficient of infection continues to decline, and now stands at 0.55.



"We have crossed the 50% threshold of all Israeli citizens who are vaccinated in the second dose," said Health Minister Yuli Edelstein.

"Thanks to you, the State of Israel defeats the corona. All that remains is to follow the instructions so that the corona does not return."



The infection rate in the Arab sector now stands at 0.69, and in the ultra-Orthodox sector at 0.46.

According to the data, 75% of patients in critical condition in hospitals are not vaccinated.

The ministry further updated that 407 people have been diagnosed in Corona in the past day.

This increased the number of verified in Israel to 830,515.

Last night, 45,007 tests were performed, with the positive rate for the virus being 1.1%.

The tests and their results are not final and may change in future Ministry of Health updates.



The number of active patients is 12,906.

The hospitals hospitalize 740 patients, of whom 189 are respirators and 482 are seriously ill.

As of today, 6,157 people have died from the corona virus in Israel.
