Pharmaceutical companies and Piontech announced today (Thursday) the launch of an experiment that will test the effects of the corona vaccine on children under the age of 12, with the aim of extending the vaccines to these ages in early 2022, as soon as possible.
A parallel experiment was announced by a modern company last week.
The first volunteers in the early stages of the experiment received the first shots yesterday, a spokesman for the company said.
The experiment is supposed to include children from the age of six months to the age of 12, and will test in the advanced stages of the experiment what dose is appropriate for the different ages - 10, 20 or 30 micrograms.
The vaccine is expected to expand to a total of 4,500 trials, and as part of this, the safety of the trial and the immune response to it will be examined.

The vaccine developed by the two companies has been approved by the FDA for use in the United States for people over the age of 16. As of yesterday morning, about 66 million people across the United States have already received the first dose of the trial.
The Pfizer vaccine is the only one approved for use in the United States for ages 16-18, while the Modern vaccine is approved for ages 18 and up.
No other vaccine has so far been approved for use under the age of 18.
Meanwhile, Pfizer is continuing an experiment that tests the vaccine at ages 15-12, and first results are expected to be received at the company within weeks.
