The presence of women in the Syrian drama over more than sixty years and monitoring the trends of television dramas to present them as themes that were addressed by the dialogue event held by the House of Arabic Calligraphy and Arts Association at the Abu Rummaneh Cultural Center.
Writer and screenwriter Samer Muhammad Ismail believed that women should not be separated from men in any intellectual product, stressing the need to move away from presenting a stereotypical image of women and men in television dramas, especially the environmental ones, and the necessity to present an image that reflects the reality of Syrian society in times of war and away from the commercial character, calling at the same time. Until the next stage carries out the reconstruction of culture and art in Syria by launching real cultural projects with material support that guarantees the achievement of its goals.
In turn, the poet Adana Khair Bey pointed to the need to produce works that embody the true picture of the reality and sacrifices of Syrian women during the years of war and their steadfastness alongside men, calling for the launch of artistic projects documenting the role and heroism of Syrian women.
The seminar moderated by journalist Muhammad Samir Tahan, during which critic Nidal Qousha, writer Imad Nadaf and director Adnan Abu Sariya spoke in interventions through which they agreed on the need to increase the budgets allocated by the public sector for dramatic projects in television and cinema to advance their reality, fortify their workers and limit their emigration abroad with the need to give Culture is the priority and creating standards that control the artistic and intellectual quality of the Syrian drama industry.
