A Spanish court today sentenced to prison a terrorist for financing terrorist organizations in Syria.
Spanish media reported that a judge at the National Court had sentenced the so-called treasurer of the Islamic Commission to pre-trial imprisonment without bail on charges of "belonging to a terrorist organization and financing terrorism in Syria."
The media referred to the terrorist’s role in transferring money to terrorist organizations through the exploitation of several associations and institutions in Spain.
Yesterday, the Spanish authorities arrested three terrorists on charges of belonging to terrorist organizations and logistical support for them by sending them money, including the so-called head of the Islamic Commission in Spain, called Muhammad Ayman Idlibi.
In 2019, the Spanish security services dismantled a terrorist network that was collecting funds through international branches and channels for it and sending it to terrorist groups in Syria.
