"Donbass: Paris can convince Putin to strike a deal"

TRIBUNE - Kiev wishes to relaunch negotiations with Moscow to put an end to the Donbass war and counts on the support of France, explains Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.


The war in Donbass has been going on for more than seven years now.

Some progress has been made in recent years thanks to Ukraine's commitment to peace and the effective contribution of France and Germany: release of prisoners, humanitarian measures, disengagement of forces in certain areas and ceasefire strengthened since last year.

Unfortunately, despite the gigantic diplomatic efforts of Ukraine, France and Germany to achieve peace, no lasting solution has yet been found.

Ceasefire violations continue, causing deaths and injuries every week.
