In July of last year, in an Argentine soccer paralyzed by the pandemic, an offer of 8,500,000 euros arrived in San Lorenzo for Adolfo Gaich, the scorer who showed his class in the youth teams but who did not have as many opportunities in the team of First.

At the age of 21, then, the Cordovan striker packed his bags and went to Russia to play for

CSKA Moscow

.

"The fan was left wanting to see me score more goals with San Lorenzo," he told Clarín before getting on the plane.

And he was not wrong.

This Friday, 12 hours after the elimination of Boedo's team from the Argentine Cup, Gaich made it 1-0 in the friendly of the Under 23 National Team against Japan and showed how comfortable he feels every time he wears the albiceleste shirt.

Although in the Senior National Team he only added 3 minutes when he replaced Rodrigo De Paul on September 10, 2019 in a friendly that Argentina beat Mexico 4-0, in the youth teams Gaich stands out with a very high goal average: in 27 official matches scored 16 goals, a figure that rises to 20 if the friendlies are added.

Impressive.

In the U-20s, the 1.90-meter-tall striker scored three goals in the nine South American games, three in four matches at the L'Alcudia tournament and another three in the four World Cup appearances in Poland.

A month after that event in which Argentina was eliminated by Mali in the round of 16, Gaich went to the Pan American Games in Lima with the U23 and was the great figure.

With six goals in five games, the forward led the team in obtaining the gold medal.

In November of that year, in preparation for the Pre-Olympic that Colombia hosted in January 2020, Gaich added another three goals to his history in the 14-0 National Team against the Canary Islands, replacing Chile in the international home run "United" played in Spain.

Then, then, he returned to appear with the selected Batista in the Pre-Olympic.

Although there he was only able to score one goal in five games, it was part of a bigger goal: qualifying for Tokyo 2020, an appointment that was delayed a year, so the preparation now continues with the friendlies before Japan.

With his header this Friday, after a great overflow and precise center from Monito Vargas, the 22-year-old player once again scored his name in the National Team.

It is with that shirt that, for now, he had his highest performance.

Until his arrival at Benevento this season, Gaich had trouble finding opportunities.

In San Lorenzo he had little ownership and left with just eight goals in 28 games, while in Russia he only spent four months, he did not convert in the local tournament but registered his name in the Europa League where he scored against Wolfsberger.

Italy, on the other hand, suits him better: he scored a goal in his first game as a starter - against Spezia - and on the last date he made the historic victory against Juventus that frustrated Cristiano Ronaldo.

Since then, there is talk that the Campania club will make use of the purchase option and will pay 11 million euros to keep it.
