Mayor LR of Cannes did not wait for the green light from the executive to schedule the vaccination of people over 50, including without any sign of comorbidity.

David Lisnard launches a standoff against the government.

The mayor LR of Cannes ensures that he will start the vaccination of people over 50 years old, including without signs of comorbidity, in his city.

The elected official did not, however, get the green light from the executive.

Until then, only those over 75 could be vaccinated.

This threshold will drop to 70 years from Saturday.

Obviously, the news went badly to the Ministry of Health.

Olivier Véran made it known Thursday evening during the weekly press conference dedicated to the evolution of the epidemic: "

I will not qualify the decision of the mayor of Cannes, I regret that he did it independently. without alerting either the general management of the ARS or even the prefect, or even the caregivers who are mobilized to vaccinate in Cannes and everywhere else in France,

”lambasted the Minister of Health.

Lisnard sees "common sense" in it

David Lisnard explained Thursday night on Twitter.

“I am astonished that (Olivier Véran) controversies and judges the president who asks to vaccinate 'morning, noon and evening'.

So, having finished the other audiences, we are opening the appointment booking for the over 50s

, ”he explained, believing that it was

“ common sense ”

.

The mayor LR of Cannes detailed his ambition in a press release sent in the wake.

“We have opened the appointment setting for those over 50, including without any sign of comorbidity, because we finally have visibility in terms of endowments.

If we are able to do so today, it is because our vaccinodromes have been operational since January 4, when the government claimed that they were not useful, ”

he mocked.

"I do not see what I can be reproached except for responding to the injunction of the President of the Republic who insists that it is necessary to vaccinate 'morning, noon and evening'.

This is the case in Cannes where we actually vaccinate from morning to night, ”

he said.
