The department of Jura "is

experiencing a sharp acceleration in the circulation of the virus (...) which results in an incidence rate of 266 per 100,000 inhabitants

", whereas this rate stood on March 15 at 160.2 for 100,000 inhabitants, an increase of 66% in ten days, the prefecture said in a statement.

"

In view of this situation, it remains more urgent and necessary than ever to prevent any behavior likely to promote the risk of contagion in all circumstances, in particular in the public space

", specifies the prefecture.

After consulting elected officials and the Regional Health Agency, the prefect of Jura, David Philot, therefore decided to make the wearing of a mask compulsory "

for anyone aged eleven and over on the urbanized territory of all communes of the department

”, until April 30, 2021 inclusive.

He also issued two other orders to ban the consumption of alcohol and the distribution of amplified music on public roads.

"

To fight against the epidemic

", the prefecture also called on eligible people to make an appointment to be vaccinated, while 12,000 slots have been opened for a first injection by the end of April.
