Georgia Democratic State Representative Park Cannon was detained outside Republican Governor Brian Kemp's office for banging on the door as the official signed a law behind closed doors and only with lawmakers from the same party.
The law, promised as a way to ensure transparency, is seen by experts and by Democrats as an attempt to reduce the turnout of black and Hispanic voters, following the defeat of Republicans in that state in November 2020.
