Mexico exceeded 200,000 deaths from coronavirus this Thursday, a year after the coronavirus pandemic began.

On March 18, 2020, Mexico reported its first death from coronavirus.

By that time the country had 118 cases of covid-19.

So far Mexico is the third with the most deaths in the world from covid-19 after Brazil and the United States, which exceeded the 200,000 mark months ago.

The US is already close to 550,000 deaths from the new coronavirus and Brazil exceeds 303,000 deaths.

Along with the 200,000 death mark, Mexico has more than 2.2 million infections since the start of the pandemic, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
