The municipality of Wörthsee is increasing its parking fees on the parking spaces by the lake.

Once again the topic sparked a discussion, because not all councilors raised the price from four to eight euros for a day ticket.

The church is in a dilemma.

Steinebach - The municipality of Wörthsee is particularly affected by excursion traffic due to its close proximity to the lake.

There is almost no getting through on summer days.

The magic formula to get the day trippers to come by train or bus has not yet been found.

At least the parking fees could put off one or the other.

On the other hand, the family from Etterschlag, who come by car because of the children and the cones, should not feel disadvantaged.

After lengthy meetings behind closed doors, the working group and the audit committee finally agreed on the following: The first hour is free of charge on the community's 160 parking spaces at the town hall, on Maistraße and on Rossschwemme.

Up to two hours costs two euros, up to four hours costs four euros.

A day ticket costs eight euros for four hours or more - previously this cost four euros.

On Wednesday evening it was basically only about the statutes, but not all municipal councils knew the results of the previous meetings and started another discussion.

“Why is the day ticket so cheap?” Asked Thomas Ruckdäschel (CSU).

It's about parking spaces in the best location.

“But eight euros is not even half of the MVV ticket.” The drivers paid eight euros for “being able to drive directly to the water”.

Buses would also have a monetary disadvantage as a result.

“How are we supposed to get people into the MVV?” Parliamentary group colleague Philip Fleischmann also found the eight euros “far too cheap.

“Why do we even offer day tickets?

It's over after four hours. ”In Munich you pay a multiple.

"It is not necessary to offer the people of Munich that they can park here from morning to evening."

The statutes will be discussed again next year

Branch manager Christa Heintel argued that parking fees in Wörthsee are the highest far and wide.

In Inning, for example, the day ticket costs six euros.

"We are not only allowed to see the strangers, but also the family who come from Etterschlag." Above a certain fee level, there is also the risk that "people will refill the parking meter".

And especially in the coming summer, the S-Bahn will not run on many weekends.

Florian Tyroller (Greens) explained that the low fines were an issue during the preliminary talks.

“However, the municipality has no influence on these fees.” He also admitted that the statutes could be changed in the next year.

“Then maybe we can discuss ten euros.” Dirk Bödicker (WA) is also annoyed by the many people who come up close.

“But we cannot separate them from our citizens.” Higher fees also made it harder for the locals.

“That seemed moderate to us,” said Mayor Christel Muggenthal, commenting on the increase.

In an interview with Starnberg Mercury, she expressed skepticism about even higher rates.

“People are already parking in the back streets.” The community is still hoping for an MVV bathing ticket, for example.

Ultimately, the councils approved the statutes.

It should be discussed again next spring.

Regulations for Seestrasse and SUP paddlers

Last summer, Seestrasse in Steinebach was temporarily used as a bicycle route from the water watch to the Maistraße intersection.

So it was 30 km / h, cyclists were allowed to drive side by side, drivers had to be patient.

At the same time, the community ordered an absolute stopping ban on both sides.

Both have proven themselves - and should now apply indefinitely.

In order to make the designation more visible, the municipality is also putting up pictograms that cost 3200 euros, but will probably be subsidized.

The wooden bollards on the sidewalks are to be removed in 2022.

It is also a done deal that SUP paddlers can go into the water from Maistraße, Birkenweg and Rossschwemme, but are not allowed to store their boards on the lawns there.
