More and more holiday destinations are planning to make entry easier for tourists who have already been vaccinated against the corona virus - not so in Thailand.

In general, a vacation in Thailand is possible for German citizens - however, the corona measures for entry are so strict and complicated that hardly anyone dares the adventure.

Vacationers have to apply for a special permit and, upon arrival, have to complete a 14-day quarantine at their own expense in a state-approved isolation facility.

Even before entering the country, those affected have to register with the tracking app "Thailand Plus", which is used to track the movements of foreign tourists.

In addition, several corona tests are due during the quarantine.

Relaxed entry rules for foreign tourists in Thailand - but still with quarantine

Now, on April 1st,

the corona measures for tourists are

to be

relaxed

.

However, it remains questionable whether these will cause a rush of visitors.

As reported by the Swiss portal

travelnews.ch

,

people with a certified Covid-19 vaccination are only subject to a "shortened" quarantine

- that means eight nights and nine days in a certified hotel.

An on-site PCR test must be performed between days 3 and 5.

Those arriving without a vaccination have to be in quarantine a little longer

, but shorter than before: 11 nights and 12 days are due in a certified hotel.

In addition, a PCR test is due between days 3 and 5 and between days 9 and 10.

Anyone entering from a country with virus mutations must continue to be in quarantine for 14 days.

As

travelnews.ch

informs, there are over 200 hotels available as quarantine-certified accommodations, also in popular tourist regions such as Phuket.

As of recently, all hotel facilities can be visited, with the exception of the restaurants.

The “Fit to fly” health certificate should also no longer be necessary by April 1st.

Traveling in the corona pandemic: when is a normal Thailand vacation possible again?

It is noticeable that even vaccinated tourists are only granted small advantages - other holiday destinations such as the Seychelles, for example, completely dispense with quarantine for people with full corona vaccination protection.

However, the Thai CCSA (Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration) is definitely planning to completely cancel the quarantine for corona-vaccinated people at some point -

but probably not until October 1

.

As a condition, however, at least 70 percent of the employees in medical facilities must be vaccinated on site by then.

The locals in the holiday regions should also be vaccinated.

If everything goes according to plan - with some ideas still being debated - a relatively normal vacation will be possible again from the fourth quarter of 2021.
