With a clear lead, Karl Bär (37) from Holzkirchen has positioned himself as a direct candidate for the Greens for the federal election in September.

It's his fourth attempt.

District

- The Greens webinar to list the direct candidate for the upcoming federal election had 139 participants on Thursday evening, of whom 126 were eligible to vote.

There were also some delays here and there at this online constellation meeting, including voting.

But the Greens in the districts of Miesbach and Bad Tölz / Wolfratshausen were generally technology-savvy and well prepared.

Among other things, there were two and three members for the electoral body - "just to be on the safe side, in the event of technical problems," said meeting chairman Georg Kammholz.

However, there were no failures, so that election supervisor Jovana von Beckerath was able to very stringently lead over to the seven-minute presentation of the three candidates in alphabetical order.

It all started with Karl Bär from Holzkirchen.

The 37-year-old agricultural scientist, who works at the Environmental Institute in Munich and who recently made a name for himself as such in the South Tyrolean pesticide trial, has been nominated several times and was able to secure a place in the list in the last federal elections, but each time just failed to make it.

"Creator of a child who lives with his two mothers"

He now has offspring, reported the district and municipal council.

He is the father of a child who lives with his two mothers.

The liberalization of family law is therefore just as much on his agenda as environmental protection and the fight against climate change, ecological agriculture and an insect protection program.

“Organic should become the standard for everyone,” he made clear.

And also: “I want to govern.” He pleaded for a “compromise, conflict and campaign capability” of green politics.

For the people in the constituency, he wanted to campaign for the expansion of local public transport (instead of the planned 320 million euros for road construction) and against the privatization of hospitals.

Bär also mastered the answers to the questions confidently and precisely within the given time: An agricultural turnaround can only be brought about by tightening antitrust law.

Farmers must be given a long-term perspective instead of constantly changing requirements.

More animal welfare would mean fewer animals tied to land and higher meat prices for the consumer.

Bär wants to campaign for animal welfare in combination with trade policy.

For this he received 104 of the 126 votes cast.

Lenggries master carpenter far behind

The Lenggries master carpenter and woodworker Nikolaus Hanus received only 19 votes, although the 46-year-old family man was very combative and committed to classic green issues.

He wanted to stand up against the threat to forests and water, the decline in biodiversity and for more alternative energies and their research.

For the construction sector in particular, he called for an “energy revolution”, as well as better regional networking of rural areas, for example through the connection to the transport network of large cities.

The Otterfinger freight forwarder Martin Jordan had to be content with only two votes.

The father of the family, who lost his job as a result of the corona, primarily struggled with the way the current government was dealing with the pandemic - both in terms of corona aid and the vaccination strategy - and declared the frontal fight against the CDU / CSU and its removal to be his goal .

The result must be confirmed by postal vote by April 10th

Until April 10, the more than 400 Greens members in the constituency are required to confirm Bär by postal vote.

Counting and announcement of the results will take place on April 11th.
