Creative solution for the new kindergarten year in Edweg

The number of registrations in the childcare facilities of the municipality of Erdweg speaks for itself: It is slowly getting tight in terms of capacities.

But there are “creative solutions”.

Erdweg - After the (corona-compliant) registrations for the daycare year 2021/22, it is clear: 38 boys and girls actually have no childcare place, said Erdweg's Mayor Christian Blatt in the meeting on Tuesday evening.

Nevertheless, all children registered on time and in the correct form should receive a care offer.

In principle, only this one year of kindergarten is still really difficult, because the additional Eisenhofen children's house is making good construction progress and should go into operation at the beginning of 2022.

The start of construction for another children's home in Walkertshofen (we have reported several times) is imminent; it is scheduled to open around mid-2022.

An additional day nursery group in the Erdweg children's home is expected to be available from September 2024.

In the short term, the administration came up with new interim solutions for the transition period up to the respective move.

A kindergarten group comes to the two existing nursery transition groups at the Erdweg school;

an already existing kindergarten transition group in the gym of the Kinderhaus Kleinberghofen will be expanded from 22 to 25 children;

An additional kindergarten group will be temporarily installed in the gym of the Welshofen children's home.

“The disadvantage at the moment is, of course, that there is no gym in the children's homes in Kleinberghofen and Welshofen,” said Mayor Blatt.

But in the warm season, where you can be outside, that is more manageable.

To create five new full-time positions

Of course, the temporary arrangements also have financial implications, because the rooms not only have to be prepared, but also furnished.

In addition, around five full-time positions must be created for the two transition groups.

At the end of the detailed explanations, the Erdweg municipal council followed the recommendations of the preliminary advisory social committee to set up or expand the groups.

Christian Blatt emphasized that everything had to be discussed with the respective parents' council.

The community chief had also worked out a scheme of how the occupancy of the newly created children's homes will look.

The clear message: From the perspective of the groups, both are already full again.

Because all transition groups will then move there: the Erdweger and Kleinberghofener to the four-group Kinderhaus Eisenhofen, the Welshofen transition group and the provisional daycare group in the community center to the new house in Walkertshofen.

In the future, according to Blatt, however, he does not see any major problems if one is guided by moderate growth in the community.
