French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian accused Britain of practicing a policy of "blackmail" over how it deals with exports of coronavirus vaccines, amid continuing tensions over supply chains.
In response to a question about whether the European Union had "deceived" by sending millions of doses to the United Kingdom while facing the introduction of vaccines in countries, Ludiane told Radio France Info, "We need to build a cooperative relationship, but we cannot deal in this way."
"The European Union should not pay the price for the UK's vaccination policy," he said, as he criticized its approach to buying doses.
He warned that "the United Kingdom will have difficulty providing a second dose to its citizens," and said, "The United Kingdom is very proud of a good vaccination with the first dose, but it has a problem providing the second dose."
