Permitted for publication: The Israel Police arrested a suspect (40) this afternoon (Saturday) at the end of advanced investigations in the assault incident that took place earlier this week in the south of the city, in which Chef Shalom Kadosh, who has since been hospitalized, was robbed and attacked.

The police said: "After days of investigations using advanced capabilities and means, a suspect (40), a resident of East Jerusalem, was arrested in the afternoon who allegedly stole a vehicle and injured a person in the south of the city earlier this week. His arrest. "

Chef Shalom Kadosh is still hospitalized in critical condition in the neurosurgical intensive care unit at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, while being resuscitated and anesthetized.

On Sunday, Chef Kadosh arrived at a gas station on Derech Bethlehem Street in the capital when suddenly a man stole his wallet from his vehicle. 

The 74-year-old saint began to chase after him and tried to stop the thief.

The suspect pushed a saint who fell to the ground and was hit in the head.

Following the incident, Kadosh needed medical treatment and was rushed to Hadassah, where he is hospitalized in critical condition.

Chef Shalom Kadosh, Yakir Jerusalem, one of the most well-known and veteran chefs in Israel and around the world, has cooked meals for presidents and heads of state from all over the world. 

In January 2020, Chef Kadosh cooked a meal at the President's House for dozens of leaders from around the world, who came to Israel on the occasion of the World Holocaust Forum.
