Iranian President Hassan Rouhani condemned the US intervention in the Middle East region, noting that the main reason for instability in it is the US military presence.

During his meeting today in Tehran with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Rouhani stressed the importance of comprehensive efforts to combat terrorism and extremism in the region, referring to the (Hormuz peace plan) presented by Iran to achieve this goal.

Rouhani indicated that relations with China are strategic for Iran, and it is necessary to continue cooperation between the two countries to implement the nuclear agreement, stressing the need to accelerate the implementation and activation of agreements concluded between the two countries, increase economic and trade cooperation between them and cooperation in combating terrorism.

For his part, the Chinese Foreign Minister indicated that the interference of America and foreign powers in the region would destabilize its security, describing the US sanctions on Iran as illegal and inhuman.

Wang indicated that America's withdrawal from the nuclear agreement is a violation of international law, calling on Washington to return to it and lift sanctions on Iran.

"Beijing has always opposed US ambitions and sanctions on Iran and considers maximum pressure a step against law and humanity, and the nuclear agreement, which is a multilateral gain, must be implemented," Wang added.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif signed with his Chinese counterpart in Tehran today a comprehensive document for strategic cooperation between the two countries for 25 years.
