Miesbach - The news hits the people in Miesbach completely unexpectedly: Sepp Heid, an entrepreneur with a heart, died on Tuesday.

He was a man of action who did not hesitate to tackle things himself.

Always with an idea in mind of how to solve a problem.

And last but not least, always ready to look after those around you and to help if necessary.

This is how many people got to know Heid Sepp - privately and as a business owner.

This news hit them all completely unexpectedly and also shook them: Sepp Heid died unexpectedly on Tuesday at the age of 64.

Takeover of the family business at the end of the nineties

Professionally, Heid has managed to gradually expand his company.

In 1998 he took over the family business.

The grandfather started a mechanical workshop in Miesbach-Haidmühl in 1937.

His son Josef continued to run the company with road haulage from 1945.

In 1955 the company was relocated to Gmund-Dürnbach in order to operate an Aral petrol station with car rental.

Sepp Heid switched to his special services relating to sewage and disposal.

His recipe for success: good employees and the latest technology.

His ideas flowed into the manufacturers' blueprints

And the improved Sepp Heid himself, if necessary. "He kept giving the manufacturer of his bodies tips on how to make something better and more practical," says son-in-law Sebastian Heid.

"And a good three quarters of his suggestions were implemented - in series."

The decision to do the repair work yourself led to the founding of the truck service company Brummifit.

"That was only intended for our vehicles at first, but then more and more customers came and asked if we could not also make their vehicles."

Sepp Heid: Hard-working, in a good mood and absolutely collegial

However, professional success did not come by itself - Sepp Heid earned it.

Hard-working, in a good mood and absolutely collegial.

Working days from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. were not uncommon.

"He was the boss, was fair and sometimes also determined," describes Sebastian Heid, "but you saw him like a colleague." So he wasn't too good to help and collaborate himself.

His motto: clever or not at all.

"That way we've always got a little better."

But what was most important to Sepp Heid was the family.

His wife Hannelore, his three daughters and seven grandchildren were most important to him - spending time together had absolute priority.

He didn't need a special hobby for that either.

And the team spirit that prevails in the company has its roots here, as Sebastian Heid explains: "He doesn't always have to have been convinced of the path his children have chosen, but he always fully supported them."

Miesbach loses an entrepreneur and friend

The gap that has now opened up so unexpectedly is immense.

With Sepp Heid, Miesbach loses a popular, helpful friend and the family a loving, caring father.

Only family and friends will say goodbye at the grave - but in their minds there will be very, very many.
