The Political Council of the Free Patriotic Movement in Lebanon reaffirmed that the movement will not give confidence to the next government headed by Saad Hariri, and will not participate in it as it is still working to prevent reform, obstruct criminal scrutiny and all attempts to fight corruption.
The Council said in a statement after its meeting headed by Deputy Gebran Bassil, “The Free Patriotic Movement will not participate in the government and will not give it confidence on the foundations presented by Hariri,” expressing its refusal to give the Prime Minister-designate and his team “the half plus one” in the government because he will use it to prevent reform, disrupt criminal scrutiny and brake All attempts to fight corruption.
The statement believed that after the end of the show movement that Hariri carried out in the Republican Palace in search of electoral popularity, he must return to the constitutional and constitutional principles that he knows well and which he had previously adopted in forming each government, because it is the only way to form any government of any kind.
The statement warned of the danger of the exclusionary approach that Hariri is adopting in his dealings with the President of the Republic General Michel Aoun and with the concerned parliamentary blocs, considering that this behavior is a clear desire of Hariri to name himself the ministers so that he has half the members of the government plus one, which is the real goal of raising the title of the third plus one. This is the reason that prevents him from presenting a complete and clear government formation to the President of the Republic, which, above all, is a condition of obtaining the confidence of the strong Lebanese bloc.
The statement emphasized that there are internal and external reasons that prevented the prime minister-designate until now from seriously resolving to form the government and camouflaging these reasons by fabricating flimsy arguments, considering that time is in his favor as long as he does not bear direct responsibility for stopping the collapse, but rather throws it on the President of the Republic and the caretaker government. Hariri created the blocking third problem as a way to hold the government and obtain its majority, and to keep the government waiting and hijacked while the Lebanese moan and the situation is deteriorating.
Last Monday, the Presidency of the Lebanese Republic expressed its surprise and surprise with the words and style of Hariri in form and content, stressing that the methodological paper sent by President Aoun to the person in charge of forming the government does not contain names so that it contains a third of obstructions, and it is a mechanism for forming a matter of cooperation.
Analysts and observers of the Lebanese issue believe that Hariri is hiding behind the slogan of a government of specialists in order to impose a government formation on the scale of his political team, far from any internal consensus and be in accordance with European-American desires that link economic aid to Lebanon and the presence of a government affiliated with the West.
