The Directorate of Education in Homs revived the International Dance Day with a theatrical performance titled “The Fund of the World”, in which 21 children participated, on the stage of the theater of the martyr Abdul Hamid Al Zahrawi.

The show, which lasted 30 minutes, carried messages rich in heritage meanings, values and customs of ancestors, by linking the old with the modern, by presenting the world box, which in the past was the screen on which children and adults view the civilizations, cultures and stories of peoples.

Walid Mari, Director of Homs Education, indicated in a statement to SANA that the event, which was held in cooperation with the Directorate of School Theater and Artistic Activities in the Ministry of Education, seeks to explode the potential and creative artistic talents of students, especially in these times, to spread the ancient Syrian culture and heritage.

The director of the show, Madeleine Al-Ashi, and the supervisor of the arts department at the School Theater in Homs explained that the idea of the show revolves around identifying the Arab and international musical heritage through a dialogue between the child and the Fund accompanied by dancing paintings of Arab and Eastern international dances as if it was an exploration trip to learn about the cultures and civilizations of the world.

The show was accompanied by an art exhibition that included more than 100 works of art and drawing boards, with the participation of students from about 30 schools in the countryside and the city.

Sahar Razzouq, the art supervisor at the Martyr Muhammad Ghara School, explained that the subjects of the paintings varied between motherhood, love of work, decoration, portraiture and silent nature, in addition to artistic models from the combination of the environment, resin, paper, wool and wood, as it took about a month to design, color and prepare.

Talib Hamash, the assistant head of the school theater department in Homs, pointed out that the show mixes dance and theater to some extent to remind us of an old theatrical case represented by the Dunya Fund to present the state of integration of visual and popular arts, pointing out that the exhibition constitutes an aesthetic gateway with a creative and artistic level to enter the dance show.
